Welcoming and Belonging Committee

Welcoming and Belonging Committee

Our purpose is to create and maintain an inclusive environment where every member feels a sense of belonging, achieved through the development of opportunities to engage members across the organization, ultimately leading to increased HAPS general membership and active participation, while also enhancing membership retention.

mission & vision

Our Focus on Anatomy & Physiology

Thank you for your interest in the Welcoming & Belonging Committee! We strive to provide opportunities that will allow everyone to be in community, grow as an educator, and contribute to the success of HAPS. the Welcoming & Belonging Committee is comprised of the Regional Directors and one representative from each of the Standing Committees that work with the Co-Chairs (The President-Elect, and a representative from the Steering Committee). We use this model to ensure a diverse group of voices and representation across all areas of HAPS are sharing and collaborating on developing the best ways to attract new members, engage current members, and increase retention of members.

Mission Part

We host several programming opportunities throughout the year, including the “What You Need To Know Before You Go” Annual Conference Town Hall, the Pre-Opening Reception event at the Annual Conference, and a Town Hall series each year focused on current trends and topics that impact the teaching and learning of A&P. In addition, the committee also engages in extensive data collecting and analyzing to better understand our current membership and our potential membership.
