The Update Seminar portion of the conference will be located at the Oregon Convention Center and workshops will be hosted by the University of Portland.

The HAPS contracted hotels (Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown, DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, and Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center ) are sold out. Donate to the Silent Auction

The HAPS Fundraising Committee would like to invite you to participate in the first ever silent auction event!

How does it work?
Auction items will be donated by attendees and displayed on tables in the Exhibit Hall during the first day of the Update Seminars (Thursday, May 23 from 7:30 am to 6:15 pm). Attendees will have until 6:15 pm on Thursday to bid on their favorite items! At the end of the bidding period, the individual with the highest bid will receive the item (in exchange for the monetary bid). Items will need to be collected/paid for on Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Registration Desk. 

What should be donated?
The item could be something from your hometown or home institution. Anything small and interesting (sorry, but we do not have the ability to receive or send shipped items, so it must be small enough to travel with you to the meeting and home to the winner from the meeting). Examples include a copy of a book authored, hand crafted jewelry or other accessories, school sports items (like mugs, t-shirts, etc.), and gift certificates. Donated items do not have to be HAPS related.

All registered attendee can participate in the auction, irrespective of whether they donated an item or not. However, the more items donated, the more interesting and fun the auction will be!

Please bring your donated items to the registration desk at the Oregon Convention Center on Wednesday, May 22 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.


This is what you get with each package:

Entire Conference Package (May 22 - May 26) includes Wednesday Evening Welcome Reception, all Update Seminars, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks, Friday night Social, Workshop sessions hosted by the University of Portland, breakfast and lunch at the host Institute, and transportation to and from the campus on Workshop days.

Update Seminar Package (May 22 - May 24) includes Wednesday Evening Welcome Reception, all Update Seminars, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks, Friday night Social.

Workshop Package (May 25 - May 26) includes all workshops, breakfast and boxed lunches both days, and transportation to the University of Portland on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, My 26.

Guest Fees apply to all guests who are not registered as participants for the conference, regardless of age. The guest fee allows a participant's guest to attend the Welcome Reception, Friday Night Social, and visit the exhibit hall. To attend the update seminars or workshops, a package (entire conference, update seminar, or workshop) will need to be purchased.

Conference Schedule/Details:


  • Set up will be from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in Exhibit Hall B of the Oregon Convention Center.
  • The Welcome Reception will be held in the A105-106 Meeting Rooms at the Oregon Convention Center from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.


  • We will open the Exhibit Hall at 7:00 am for any last minute set-ups. The hall will open to attendees at 7:30 am.
  • The hall will be closed for one hour during lunch (12:00 - 1:00 pm). 
  • The last event of the day will be the Drinks with Exhibitors event, which will be held in the Exhibit Hall from 5:15 to 6:15 pm. 


  • The Exhibit Hall will open at 7:30 am. 
  • The hall will be closed for one hour during lunch (12:00 - 1:00 pm)
  • Tear down can begin at 4:00 pm. 
  • The Social will be held in A105-109 Meeting rooms from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Need Assistance?

The Oregon Convention Center provides wheelchair and electronic scooter rentals on-site. Wheelchairs can be rented for $15/day and electronic scooters for $35/day. Please note there are only 5 of each in their inventory and this is done on a first come, first served basis. Rentals must be completed on-site and paid by credit card. Conference Policies

Speaker & Workshop Presentations
HAPS cannot provide PowerPoint presentations or videos from Update Speakers or workshop presenters. If an attendee would like a copy of a speaker or presenters material, individuals should ask for materials directly from the speaker/presenter if they so desire. Photos and videos of presentations are forbidden without permission from that speaker/presenter. Please contact the HAPS Main Office with any questions you may have. 

Refund Policy
Until the end of the regular registration period for the conference, a withdrawing registrant will receive a full refund minus a handling fee equal to 15% of the registration fee. From the beginning of the late registration period up to 5 business days before the conference begins, 75% of the registration fee will be refundable. No refunds will be made later than 5 days before the conference begins. Refund of fees requires an emailed request to info@hapsconnect.org no later than 5 business days before the start of the conference. Refund requests received prior to the conference may not be processed until after the conference.
