The Department of Biological Sciences at Oakland University invites applicants for a full-time Adjunct Assistant Professor position to be filled by August 2010. The Department offers laboratory courses in human anatomy utilizing cadaver prosections as well as human anatomy lecture courses to a population of mainly premedical and health sciences students. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and be a team player. This individual will be able to teach human anatomy effectively at the undergraduate level and mentor undergraduate teaching assistants in the human anatomy labs. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal. The position offers a competitive salary package including retirement and health benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will teach anatomy (BIOL 129), physiology (BIOL 141 & 142), and anatomy of movement for kinesiology majors (KINES 202). Each of these courses has both a lecture and laboratory component. The candidate is responsible for staffing additional sections of lecture and laboratory for these courses as necessary. The candidate will also oversee a cadaver laboratory that enrolls select upper-level students in independent dissection. The successful candidate will be a team-player willing to work together to ensure the highest quality education for Berks’ students. Service to the college, the community, and the profession is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An advanced degree in a health-related field is required, although a terminal degree is preferred, e.g., PhD in appropriate discipline, MD, DC, DMD, VMD, DPT. A commitment to undergraduate teaching is expected. Experience teaching anatomy and physiology is a plus as well as experience with cadaver dissection. The candidate must support the College’s mission of enhancing undergraduate learning through engagement while encouraging individual growth, cultural awareness, ethical-decision making, and civic responsibility. Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to continually develop as a teacher are critical qualifications. Salary is competitive.

The Division of Biological Sciences, The University of Montana-Missoula, invites applications for a Lecturer position. Responsibilities include teaching lecture and laboratory courses in anatomy and physiology, as well as medical physiology, including supervising human cadaver dissections and non-human organ prosections. This position is 9-month, non-tenure track, with performance-based potential for continuing, renewable multi-year term appointments; summer teaching opportunities in these subjects are available. This is primarily a teaching position with occasional opportunities for curriculum-relevant service. Research is not part of the assigned workload or expectation, but recent research experience in the above discipline is an asset because some opportunities exist to mentor undergraduate research. The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Troy University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant/associate professor level to begin August 2010. The 16 faculty members in the Department serve the needs of 450 undergraduates and 40 graduate students. We offer undergraduate programs/majors/concentrations in ecology, environmental science, cell and molecular biology, medical technology, marine biology, and biology education.
We seek a broadly educated biologist who specializes in animal anatomy/physiology to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology (HAP) I and II. HAP I & II are required courses for most Departmental undergraduates and all pre-nursing students. The successful applicant will also teach courses in area of specialization. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the HAP I & II courses, the faculty, adjuncts, and graduate teaching assistants.
