Denoyer-Geppert: Sharing the Knowledge

Attention Educators:

Denoyer-Geppert Science Company is seeking your input on a research study survey to collect data on the pedagogical practices and needs of those who teach anatomy and physiology. The survey may be accessed through the link below any time from April 1 to May 1, 2009. The following information explains the survey to help you determine if you wish to provide your assent to participate in this opportunity

The purpose of this research survey is to provide a set of public data that manufacturers of anatomical and physiological models can use to advance the products and better support educators in this science area. Research survey results will be presented to the membership through two workshops at the HAPS 2009 Conference in Baltimore, MD and via the Denoyer E-Xhibit section of the HAPS website.

All participants who complete the survey will receive one of the following: an anatomical chart, a life-size brain model, or a life-size heart model. All participants will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Denoyer-Geppert Giant Sarcomere model.

In order to receive the compensation, you must complete the entire survey, which should take only 10-30 minutes depending upon the pace you use to read and answer questions. However, you are free to leave the survey at any time simply by closing your browser. There is no way of saving the survey while it is in progress, so it must be completed all at one time and you may only take the survey one time.

The risks associated with participation in this survey are no greater than checking one's email over the internet. The data on pedagogical practices is being collected anonymously so as to maintain minimal psychological or professional risk to all participants. The contact information you provide is only for the purpose of sending you a teaching model in appreciation for your time and input – you are not required to submit any personal information to participate in the survey. The individual IP addresses of participants are not being collected. This data will be kept in a secure digital format by the Denoyer-Geppert Science Company; it will not be used by Denoyer nor sold to any other companies for any types of marketing purposes.

We urge you to take this survey and to encourage your fellow HAPS-ters to complete it as well!

Thank you!
